Coventry convention, london convention and other

hey all

right.. havent updated this in a few weeks so here is what ive been doing

A few weeks ago me and lee worked coventry convention. Where to begin..

I finally met Sam Ricketts, after doing a collaberate flash sheet with him it was cool to hang out and get to know each other!

As I live nearish to coventry and OSC is maybe an hour away, I had alot of friends to tattoo and so I was kept busy all weekend and it was cool to catch up with some people I hadnt seen for a while! I did some fun tattoos all weekend, most notably the eagle chestpiece I tattooed on my friend sam - he sat and had the whole thing tattooed in one sitting.. at a convention. He is a hero.

Im not going to bitch about the convention.. but lets just say, it wasnt the most organised thing in the world. And the atmosphere wasnt amazing.. or even good. Even so, got to see some friends and do some cool tattoos, so whos complaining.

After a busy week back at OSC me and lee attended london convention on the saturday and sunday. Was really fun! Saw alot of my favourite artists at work; thomas hooper, rudy fritsch, amanda toy, miss arriana, javier rodriguez, jondix etc. After a hilariously sober night out on brick lane (oh dear.), and an extremely comfortable nights sleep on some guys floor, I was lucky enough to be tattooed by jondix on sunday! He tattooed both of my palms. It was a pleasure to meet him and be tattooed by him, he is one of the most positive people ive ever met! And the tattoos are PAINFULLY neat. Ive heard alot of people say that palms are supposed to be the worst tattoo you can get, I honestly thought it was fine! It hurt real bad about an hour afterwards though and they both swole up quite badly, they are fine now though.. its just real irritating having sticky palms all the time.

I cant upload any new photographs today as they are all on the work computer, however I have uploaded some new ones to my myspace (www.myspace.com/underscorex) Including the chestpiece I have now almost finished on mike! And all the tattoos I made at coventry convention.

Only 2 weeks left till I start my stint of guest spots! Starting at INDIGO tattoo in norwich on the 16th of october for 2 days, then I fly to belgium to work with ben at siam 57 in mons which is not far from brussels! If you live near or in mons and want to get tattooed while Im over there get in touch with ben! Im fully booked for my guest spot at indigo now but still come down and hang out. Norwich is cool!

Anyway, my sticky palms are getting the keyboard all messy.. ah man that sounds rough.

Norwich Convention '09

Hey all!

Norwich convention was a great weekend!
Me lee and pete worked this year and were really busy on both days. Saturday was a bit hectic, sold alot of flash and prints, tattooed my friends james and tom, and also mike. All of whom travelled over 3 hours to get there! So my thanks goes out to them! And to the patience of the other people who got tattooed by me who had to wait around!

We attended the show party thing at this wierd club called "the waterfront". Ended up getting reaaally drunk and getting into a bunch of adventures.. none of which ill be divulging on here, however.. it was fun.

Sunday I tattooed a dude called lance and a couple of guys whos names i dont remember. Was really cool meeting you all! Thanks for your patience also!

To round off the weekend I won an award for "Best Traditional" with the piece I tattooed on lance! All in all a great first convention!

I will be working at Indigo Tattoo in Norwich some time later this year for anyone who I tattooed and wants more work! Get in touch would be cool to hang out with you all again!

After almost completely selling out of my first set of flash, my split sheet with Sam Ricketts and my prints, I have started work on my new set. This one will be much longer and will be using no more than 3 colours! Madness. Im also working on a split sheet with Geoff Horn!

For anyone who lives in Mons, BE - and would like to get tattooed by me I will be working at Siam FiftySeven in October. Please get in touch with the studio to book appointments with me, and get in touch with me to let me know what you want to get done!

Thanks for reading! Check back soon for a taster of my new flash set
